According to a new economic impact assessment prepared by Sport Tourism Canada using the STEAMPRO model, the 2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup generated more than $7.2 million in overall economic activity for Quebec and $8.8 million for Canada.
Held December 6-7, 2025, the event transformed Mont-Tremblant into an international winter sport destination as 50 athletes from 17 countries competed before packed crowds in ideal early-season ski conditions. Fans were treated to performances from global superstar Mikaela Shiffrin and Canadian favourite Valérie Grenier, helping create a memorable atmosphere both on and off the slopes.
The event’s tourism impact was driven by strong overnight visitation and extended stays. Survey results showed that 72% of out-of-town attendees stayed overnight in Mont-Tremblant, while more than 22% extended their trips before or after the event. Additionally, 46% of attendees indicated that the World Cup was the sole reason for their visit to the region, reinforcing the event’s role as a key driver of tourism.
Visitors reported a highly positive experience, with the event earning an overall experience score of 4.58 out of 5, and nearly 85% of respondents indicated they were very likely to return to Mont-Tremblant in the future.
“The PwC Tremblant World Cup once again demonstrated the power of international sport to drive tourism, showcase Canadian destinations, and generate meaningful economic benefits for host communities,” said Derek Mager, Sport Tourism Canada’s Senior Consultant and Program Manager of Economic Impact, who analyzed the data and prepared the report. “From hotel stays and restaurant visits to retail shopping and local employment, the impact extended well beyond the race course.”
“The PwC Tremblant World Cup delivered on the objectives we share with Station Mont Tremblant for hosting a World Cup event in Canada and is a key pillar of our strategic plan to produce race events that excite Canadians. We look forward to building on the momentum at the event next season on December 5-6, 2026”, said Therese Brisson, President & CEO at Alpine Canada.
