The Adjudication Process
- Once the Committee is finalized, a meeting is held to discuss the award categories and other changes to the PRESTIGE program in 2026, adjudication timelines, and provide direction on how to adjudicate nominations.
- A rubric is created and will be distributed to assist adjudicators when evaluating nominations.
- To avoid any conflict of interest, adjudicators did not judge nominations to which they had any ties or involvement. Additionally, adjudicators could only judge events that took place in communities in which they did not reside.
- Adjudications are completed independently and confidentially.
- Adjudicators are each provided with nominations to adjudicate. Each category will have multiple adjudicators.
- Adjudicators submitted their scores confidentially to Sport Tourism Canada, which in turn tabulates the results. Adjudicators are asked to keep their scores confidential and destroy the nomination entries once they have completed their evaluation process.
- The results are kept confidential until the finalists (top 3 in each category) are announced by STC in January 2026.
- Winners will be announced at the PRESTIGE Awards Gala on March 11, 2026 at Sport Events Congress in Mississauga, ON.
