Sport Tourism Canada has been an invaluable partner in the growth and development of our sport and event hosting strategy in Central Nova Scotia. Through STC’s national network and sector events like the Sport Events Congress (SEC), we’ve made meaningful connections with industry leaders, municipalities, and rights holders that have opened doors to new hosting opportunities and regional collaborations we wouldn’t have accessed otherwise.
One of the most impactful tools we’ve adopted is the STEAM model. The ability to quantify and communicate the economic impact of our events has strengthened our relationships with stakeholders, secured municipal support, and reinforced the value of sport tourism in our community. The data provided by STEAM has been instrumental in guiding our business decisions and aligning our strategic plan with tangible outcomes, such the development of the Nova Scotia Stampede as our new homegrown and authentic event.
Above all, Sport Tourism Canada has helped elevate our organization’s profile nationally. Their guidance, resources, and advocacy for communities of all sizes have helped position Central Nova Scotia as an emerging sport tourism destination with a focused and data-driven approach.
We’re proud to be part of this network and look forward to continuing our work together to grow the impact of sport tourism across the Central Nova Scotia region.
