My favourite Sport Tourism memory is when London hosted the Ontario Summer Games in August of 2024.
As a former athlete who previously participated in the Games, it was a full circle moment for me to be on the Games Organizing Committee for the 2024 edition. It was amazing to welcome and see the excitement on the faces of all the athletes of the next generation.
It was also a pleasure to work with the Ontario Ministry, several PSOs as well as local partners (including an all-hands-on-deck from my Tourism London colleagues) to see these Games operate successfully and hopefully provide valuable multi-sport games experience to some of Canada’s future Olympia.
