Selon les tabulations de donn\u00e9es personnalis\u00e9es de l'Enqu\u00eate sur les voyages des r\u00e9sidents du Canada (EVRC) et de l'Enqu\u00eate sur les voyages internationaux (EVI), le Canada a connu une hausse continue de la valeur du tourisme sportif, avec des d\u00e9penses totales de $6,8 milliards, soit une augmentation de plus de $33 millions par rapport \u00e0 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Les augmentations les plus significatives ont concern\u00e9 les d\u00e9penses des visiteurs en provenance des \u00c9tats-Unis et du monde entier :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Le tourisme sportif international en provenance des deux march\u00e9s a continu\u00e9 d'augmenter r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, avec une hausse de 5% en 2017 par rapport \u00e0 l'ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente ;<\/li>\n<li>Le volume de visiteurs sportifs en provenance des \u00c9tats-Unis a augment\u00e9 de 3% ;<\/li>\n<li>Le volume de visiteurs \u00e9trangers dans le domaine du tourisme sportif a augment\u00e9 de 2% ;<\/li>\n<li>Les visiteurs internationaux ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 35% de la valeur totale du tourisme sportif au Canada, contre 27% en 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\"Le Canada continue d'\u00eatre un pays h\u00f4te tr\u00e8s attrayant pour de nombreuses manifestations internationales, ce qui attire des gens qui viennent participer aux comp\u00e9titions, soutenir les athl\u00e8tes et assister aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Rick Traer, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l'Alliance canadienne du tourisme sportif. \"Nous avons une excellente r\u00e9putation pour notre expertise dans l'accueil des sports d'\u00e9t\u00e9 et d'hiver, avec d'excellentes installations, des capacit\u00e9s d'organisation, des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles accueillants et un soutien financier solide pour les programmes d'accueil aux niveaux f\u00e9d\u00e9ral et provincial.<\/p>\n<p>Des efforts concert\u00e9s ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour faire du Canada un h\u00f4te de choix pour les manifestations sportives internationales, a expliqu\u00e9 M. Traer. \" En collaboration avec Destination Canada, le Comit\u00e9 olympique canadien, CBC Sports et un certain nombre de destinations \u00e0 travers le Canada, nous avons commercialis\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s le Canada sur la sc\u00e8ne mondiale, lors de grandes conf\u00e9rences internationales, notamment SportAccord et d'autres. En 2017, le Canada a accueilli 41 manifestations internationales admissibles \u00e0 un financement dans le cadre du programme d'accueil du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral, ce qui le place en deuxi\u00e8me position derri\u00e8re les \u00c9tats-Unis pour ce qui est du nombre de manifestations organis\u00e9es dans un m\u00eame pays. Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 un facteur important de la croissance de l'industrie du tourisme sportif.\"<\/p>\n<p>Mme Traer s'est \u00e9galement r\u00e9jouie de voir l'industrie continuer \u00e0 prosp\u00e9rer en l'absence d'un \u00e9v\u00e9nement multisports majeur en 2017. \"Nous avons vu le nombre de visiteurs augmenter consid\u00e9rablement en 2015, lorsque le Canada a accueilli la Coupe du monde f\u00e9minine de la FIFA 2015 dans six villes diff\u00e9rentes et les Jeux panam\u00e9ricains\/parapanam\u00e9ricains de 2015 \u00e0 Toronto. L'augmentation constante au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, sans \u00e9v\u00e9nement sportif majeur comme attraction, d\u00e9montre \u00e0 quel point nos destinations et les d\u00e9tenteurs de droits sportifs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 efficaces dans la pr\u00e9sentation de candidatures et l'organisation d'\u00e9v\u00e9nements.\"<\/p>\n<p>Sur le march\u00e9 int\u00e9rieur du tourisme sportif, le nombre de visiteurs avec nuit\u00e9es en provenance du Canada est demeur\u00e9 pratiquement inchang\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 2016, tandis que le nombre de voyageurs d'un jour a enregistr\u00e9 une baisse de 9%. Alors que la valeur globale du march\u00e9 du tourisme sportif a augment\u00e9 de 4% pour les voyageurs nationaux avec nuit\u00e9es, la valeur des voyageurs avec journ\u00e9es interm\u00e9diaires a connu une baisse surprenante de 21%.
