The Go Congress! program is a host buyer program that is available to eligible Canadian Sport Organizations who wish to attend Sport Events Congress<\/a> as a guest of Sport Tourism Canada and the determined host destination partner. This program will be in effect annually.

Program Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n

For an SEC delegate to be eligible for the Go Congress! Program, they must:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Receive an invitation from Sport Tourism Canada to participate and respond to the invitation by the stated deadline. Spots are limited and are offered at the discretion of the program partners.<\/p>\n

2. Be a Canadian National Sport Organization (NSO) or a Multi-sport Organization (MSO); or be a member of Sport Tourism Canada (or who has not-for-profit status); or be a member of Sport Tourism Canada in the Event Rights Holder \u2013 National category of membership<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Own the rights to events (such as competitions\/championships, conferences, training camps, AGMs, special events, multi-sport games, etc.) that are open for bid in the current year or beyond.<\/p>\n

4. Be open to consider an event hosting partnership with Canadian communities who are actively seeking events to be hosted in their city\/town and agree to participate in Sport Events Exchange<\/a>, a B2B marketplace activity scheduled in-person.<\/p>\n

SEC Go Congress! Program Conditions<\/h3>\n

Eligible Go Congress! participants who accept an invitation from Sport Tourism Canada to participate in the Go Congress! program will be required to sign an agreement confirming acceptance of and compliance with the program conditions. Failure to sign the agreement and\/or comply with the program conditions will result in the invitation being immediately revoked.<\/p>\n

The Go Congress! Program aims to assist not-for-profit sports organizations that have restricted travel budgets or resources to promote their events that are open for bidding. As a result, for-profit event rights holders are generally excluded from the program, although this may vary at the discretion of the host city.<\/p>\n

Space in the Go Congress! program is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Because of the logistics involved in booking travel and the coordination related to Go Congress! participants taking part in Sport Events Exchange<\/a>, we can not accommodate late additions to the program.<\/p>\n

Most of the costs associated with attending SEC are covered. You may have to cover the following: meals, drinks or snacks that are not provided to delegates as part of the schedule of events, upgraded accommodations, airport parking in your home city, transportation from your home or office to the airport or train station to catch your Go Congress! flight or train, accommodation for extra days in the host city, excess baggage fees, seat selections, upgrades to business class or seats offering extra legroom, change fees or penalties for missed flights, etc.<\/p>\n

The Go Congress! program offers the opportunity for representatives from various Canadian sport organizations to attend Sport Events Congress 2020 taking place in Edmonton on a complimentary basis<\/u>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Costs such as transportation, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and SEC registration fees are covered by the program partners \u2013 CSTA, Edmonton Events and WestJet.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Participation in the Go Congress! program is offered by invitation only<\/strong> and is limited to representatives from sport organizations who will participate as events rights holders in the Sport Events Exchange (aka Speed Dating) element of the Congress.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

All Go Congress! participants must meet the 4 eligibility requirements and 4 program conditions as outlined below.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In order to be eligible for the Go Congress! program you must:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    \r\n\t
  1. Be invited by CSTA to participate*.\u00a0This invitation is available on a first come, first served basis. Spots are limited and are offered at the discretion of the program partners.<\/li>\r\n\t
  2. Be a national sport organization or multi-sport organization recognized by Sport Canada (or have not-for-profit status) OR be an Alberta provincial sport organization with not-for-profit status ** affiliated with Alberta Sport Connection.<\/li>\r\n\t
  3. Own the rights to events (such as competitions\/championships, conferences, training camps, AGMs, special events, etc.) that can move from one city to another throughout Canada.<\/li>\r\n\t
  4. Be open to accepting bids from a variety of Canadian cities and municipalities who are interested in hosting sport-related events in their communities<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n

    Program Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

    If you are eligible to participate in the Go Congress! program and are interested in attending the Congress, you must commit to:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

      \r\n\t
    1. Participate in all<\/u> elements of the Congress as noted on the official schedule of events<\/a>, including evening social events.<\/li>\r\n\t
    2. Travel on WestJet as per the travel options offered by the program partners.<\/li>\r\n\t
    3. Provide one or more event profiles to CSTA that will be used to create an events directory<\/a> that contains an overview of 200+ sport events open for bid.<\/li>\r\n\t
    4. Decline invitations to any social events that are not part of the official SEC schedule of events<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n

      Failure to comply with the program conditions will make events rights holders ineligible and participation in the Go Congress! program will be revoked.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
