2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup Named STC International Sport Event of the Year (Group A)

The 2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup has been named Sport Tourism Canada’s International Sport Event of the Year (Group A), recognizing outstanding international events with budgets between $2 million and $10 million.

Held December 5-7, 2025, in Mont-Tremblant, Québec, the event welcomed the world’s top women’s alpine skiers for two FIS Alpine Ski World Cup giant slalom races. As the only World Cup stop in Canada and Eastern North America during the 2025–26 season, the event attracted more than 10,000 spectators and showcased Canada’s ability to deliver world-class winter sport experiences on the international stage.

The achievement was particularly significant given the challenges faced just one year earlier. Following the cancellation of the 2024 event due to unseasonably warm weather, the Organizing Committee responded with a bold plan that included major investments in slope preparation, snowmaking infrastructure, and operational planning. Those improvements not only ensured the successful return of World Cup racing to Tremblant but also created lasting benefits for the resort and future events.

The result was an event that exceeded expectations for athletes, spectators, and international partners alike. For the first time, organizers were able to offer on-site training opportunities before competition, providing athletes with valuable preparation time and enhancing the overall event experience. Canadian skier Valérie Grenier rewarded hometown fans with a podium finish, adding a memorable sporting moment to an already successful weekend.

The event’s impact extended far beyond the race course. Broadcast to an estimated global audience of 80 million viewers, the PwC Tremblant World Cup delivered significant international exposure for Mont-Tremblant, Québec, and Canada. Enhanced spectator experiences, expanded viewing areas, accessible ticket pricing, and dedicated programming for youth and community groups helped create a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the village.

A strong commitment to legacy was evident throughout the event. Organizers worked closely with Alpine Canada and provincial ski organizations to engage young athletes, create exclusive learning opportunities, and establish a formal knowledge-transfer program designed to strengthen future event hosting capacity across the country. More than 1,000 youth athletes and community group participants attended the event, while volunteers benefited from expanded training, recognition programs, and leadership opportunities.

Environmental stewardship was also a priority, with the event meeting International Ski & Snowboard Federation requirements for carbon measurement and offsetting while achieving BNQ Level 3 certification, the highest standard for sustainable events in Québec.

Through resilience, innovation, and exceptional collaboration, the 2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup demonstrated the transformative power of international sport. The event not only delivered elite competition and unforgettable experiences but also strengthened Canada’s reputation as a premier host of major international winter sport events.

Congratulations to the 2025 PwC Tremblant World Cup Organizing Committee, Alpine Canada Alpin, the volunteers, partners, and the entire Mont-Tremblant community on this outstanding achievement.
